Each year, our kids donate money for a worthy cause. One year we donated money to send coats to an orphanage in Bulgaria. Another year, our donations helped buy talking photo albums for orphans. This year, our goal is to collect $700 to provide a VBS for AIDS orphans in Kenya.
Jamba told everyone about Mbatha and Wambua, two children that our congregation sponsors through Tumaini International Ministries. He also said that for just $700, we can provide a learning experience for these two kids plus many others who have lost their parents to AIDS.
After we prayed for the children in Africa, Jamba asked if anyone had donations tonight.
Even though this was our first night to ask for Tumaini donations, our children gave $49.04! We'll continue making donations each night of VBS so we can share God's love with other children.
