Tonight's Bible story comes from Genesis 40:1-23. It tells about how Joseph interprets dreams in prison.
Our tourists got to hear the story from our very own prison! They heard about how Joseph, whose brothers had sold him into slavery, ended up in prison. While there, he offered to tell other prisoners what their dreams meant as long as they'd mention him to Pharoah. Well, one of the prisoners DID get out of prison, but he forgot to tell Pharoah about Joseph. For two long years, Joseph remained in that prison, forgotten.The lesson tonight? No matter what disappointments we face, we have hope! God has promised us "a future and a hope," and He is faithful.
The Bible verse for the night: " 'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.' "
