Day 4: Jesus protects us

Key verse: "But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high." (Psalm 3:3)


We're back for Day 4! With each day of of VBS, we're learning how Jesus is "more than just a man," to quote the song we've sung every night.

In the Marketplace tonight, we listened in as a mom scolded her two sons for coming home with wet clothes.

Her sons, Peter and Andrew, explained to her that they had been on a boat with Jesus when a storm had threatened their lives.
They woke up Jesus because they thought they would die in the storm, but Jesus calmed the rough seas. Even though they'd been afraid, Peter, Andrew and the others on the boat were saved when Jesus calmed the storm.

For tonight's lesson, our children learned how Jesus protects us. Just like Peter and Andrew in the storm, we know we can turn to Jesus for help when we face our own storms in life.
