Hope for Africa

As we have heard all week, Tumaini means "hope." Tumaini Ministries International brings hope to thousands of AIDS orphans in Africa. Our goal for this VBS was to raise enough money to provide a VBS for those children in Kenya. We hoped to collect $700 to fund the program to share God's love with others.

After five days of donations, we have collected more than $900!

Praise God! What a blessing this money will be for this important ministry, and what a blessing it has been to see such cheerful givers all week!

Gifts for Tumaini

The generosity continued tonight as we gave $168.42 to provide a VBS for AIDS orphans in Kenya. Tumaini Ministries International can use the money we give to help children in Africa learn more about our loving God. Our goal is to give Tumaini $700. Through four days of VBS, we have raised $567.11! That means we have $132.89 to go in order to reach our goal. If all of our tourists will clean out the coins they might have under their couch cushions and in their cars chariots, we'll easily surpass our goal!

During our donation time, Jamba mentioned another opportunity for us to serve others. A family near us is taking in seven foster children soon. They're in need of gently used children's clothes and could use beds and a dresser. If you have any items you could give, please talk to Jamba Friday night.

Donations for Africa

Tonight we continued donating money to provide a VBS for AIDS orphans in Kenya.

Our goal is to raise $700 to go to Tumaini International Ministries.

Once again, we were amazed at everyone's generosity! Tonight $188.64 was given!


That brings our three-day total to $398.69!

Responding to the Challenge

Our world-changers continued to donate money to provide a VBS for AIDS orphans in Africa.

It's awesome to see these kids so EXCITED to help other children learn about God's love! Our goal is to raise $700 to fund the VBS for Tumaini International Ministries. After two days of donations, we have collected $210.10!

This year's challenge: VBS for Tumaini

Each year, our kids donate money for a worthy cause. One year we donated money to send coats to an orphanage in Bulgaria. Another year, our donations helped buy talking photo albums for orphans. This year, our goal is to collect $700 to provide a VBS for AIDS orphans in Kenya.

Jamba told everyone about Mbatha and Wambua, two children that our congregation sponsors through Tumaini International Ministries. He also said that for just $700, we can provide a learning experience for these two kids plus many others who have lost their parents to AIDS.


After we prayed for the children in Africa, Jamba asked if anyone had donations tonight.


Even though this was our first night to ask for Tumaini donations, our children gave $49.04! We'll continue making donations each night of VBS so we can share God's love with other children.
